Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] ("we," "us") collects, uses, and protects information in connection with the Math application and website at [math.mvcolhq.com] (the "Service"). The Service is intended to be set up and managed by a parent or legal guardian on behalf of their child.
1. Who controls the account
A parent or guardian creates a single account and may add one or more child "profiles" under it. The parent is responsible for the account and provides consent for any child's use of the Service.
2. Information we collect
- Account information — the parent's chosen username and a securely hashed password. We do not store your password in readable form.
- Child profile information — a display name (e.g., a first name or nickname) the parent enters for each child. We ask you not to include full legal names or other sensitive identifiers.
- Learning activity — practice records such as which multiplication facts were answered, whether correct, answer timing, mastery levels, goals, and streaks, used to run spaced repetition and show progress.
- Payment information — if you subscribe, payments are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card number; we store a Stripe customer/subscription identifier and your subscription status. See stripe.com/privacy.
- Technical data — basic security and operational logs (session cookies, timestamps) needed to keep the Service working and secure.
3. How we use information
We use information only to provide and improve the Service: to authenticate the account, run the learning features, show progress, process subscriptions, and maintain security. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use children's information for behavioral advertising.
4. Children's privacy (COPPA)
We collect a limited amount of information related to children solely to provide the educational Service requested by the parent. By creating profiles and using the Service, the parent provides consent to this collection and use. A parent may at any time review the information associated with their account and child profiles, request corrections, or delete a profile (which deletes its associated learning records). To make a request, contact us at [CONTACT EMAIL].
5. Cookies
We use first-party cookies that are strictly necessary to keep you signed in and to remember which profile is active. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
6. Data sharing
We share information only with service providers that help us run the Service — currently our hosting provider and Stripe (for payments) — and only as needed for those functions, or where required by law. We do not share children's personal information with third parties for their own purposes.
7. Data retention & deletion
We keep account and learning data for as long as the account is active. You can delete a child profile from within the app, or ask us to delete your entire account and associated data by emailing [CONTACT EMAIL]. We will delete or de-identify the data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain limited records (e.g., for tax or legal compliance).
8. Security
Passwords are hashed, sessions are stored as hashes, and traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Material changes affecting children's data will be communicated to the parent account, and where required we will obtain renewed consent.
